白宫下令政府机构开始执行关闭计划 Oct 1st 2013, 05:26 由 于美国国会未能就10月1日开始的新一财年的预算达成一致，奥巴马政府周一晚间已通知联邦机构开始执行"有序关闭"部分联邦政府的计划。 美国管理及预算办公室(Office of Management and Budget)负责人Sylvia Mathews在一份备忘录中称：我们敦促国会迅速通过支出方案，为财年余下时间内批准预算案留出足够的时间。她敦促议员恢复那些未能获得拨款因而受到影响的关键公共服务和项目的运作。 她说，国会是否会采取行动让政府在周二恢复运作并限制政府停摆的后果，白宫现在看不到明确迹象。政府机构已被要求制定应急计划，以防政府服务预算推迟。
